Zurich, Switzerland, February 8, 2017. ABB”s 2016 financial report showed that the company”s revenue fell by 5% to US$33.83 billion last year, while net profit increased by 2% to US$1.96 billion.
Mr. Spiesshofer, CEO of ABB Group, said: “In 2016, we made impressive progress, and ABB transformed into a digital technology leader that pays more attention to user needs, is streamlined and efficient.
ABB will continue to focus on productivity improvement and cost control. to achieve profit growth.”
Fourth quarter highlights:
3% growth comes from large orders
9% growth comes from the United States and China
Revenue increased by 1%
Power grid has strong growth momentum, with orders rising by 15% and revenue by 4%
Operating profit before interest, taxes, and amortization reached 10.4%
Highlights throughout 2016:
ABB”s pre-tax profit margin rises 50 basis points to 12.4%
Operating income per share increased from 2% to 4%
Overall, ABB electrical products and power grids have higher revenue. Total services and software revenue increased by 2%, accounting for 18.5% of total revenue, and increased by 0.5% year-on-year.
ABB also revealed the next phase of its plans: shaping ABB”s four market-led business divisions; realizing the all-round value
of “ABB Ability” digital solutions; adhering to the development concept of operational excellence; and strengthening ABB”s brand marketing.
Four major markets dominate growth:
ABB”s four market-led business divisions: electrical products, robotics and motion control, and industrial automation
and the Power Grid Division were fully operational on January 1, 2017.
Strengthening ABB”s global brand building is also the main direction in the future. In the future, ABB will be committed to strengthening the
